chopped choco pancakes

Okay, I'm Italian and this makes me unable to be a pancake-pro. In fact I never ate any "original" pancake, but who cares? I love foreign cuisine.

This pancake recipe may not be the best one in the world, but these pancakes do taste good and they are a quick dessert (don't ask me why but I love to eat pancakes after dinner rather than for breakfast). I have found it on some website, but I sincerly can't tell where exactly.

Usually I make the plain version, but this time I added some chopped orange flavored dark chocolate. The picture is not as yummy as the pancakes, and in fact the only place where I have some decent light to take pictures after dusk is my bathroom. A bit gross, I know.

chopped choco pancakes

makes about 12 pancakes:
  • 1 cup and 1/2 flour;
  • 1 cup and 1/2 non dairy milk;
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda;
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder;
  • chopped chocolate of your choice or choco chips.
Mix the dry ingredients and add milk (I suggest to add 1/2 cup milk first, to avoid lumps), mix until smooth. Incorporate the chopped chocolate. Put a small non-stick pan over heat and begin making your pancakes. Cook until bubbly, a little dry around the edges, and lightly browned on the bottom, then turn and cook the other side.

edit:

I took a better picture today and replaced it.

They look AWESOME - kinda like a crumpet pancake. I think you've created a new invention there!
Oooh - I eat pancakes for dessert as well!
